Jubilee Tai is a multidisciplinary artist from Singapore currently based in Chicago. She recently graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago focusing primarily on Sound and Photography.
In her time in Chicago, she has expanded her practice from prior contemporary dance training under the influence of Frontier Danceland and Dan Kwoh. She picked up music production and audio mixing techniques in 2016, which culminated in the self-produced ‘eeppee’ released on Bandcamp (March 2018). She is in the process of working on another album to be released in 2020/21.
She has pursued a collaboration with composer-musician Scott Rubin as a sound-movement duo bdynse, performing at Slate Arts and Performance, Experimental Sound Studio and other experimental spaces around Chicago. She is also interested in organising events surrounding music and interdisciplinary arts, and has worked with venue Homan Gardens on putting together NEO 5-4 and prjtr prty.
