With an emphasis on intricate fabric manipulation with the humble and ubiquitous muslin, muslin garment explores how material can echo the body’s structure and support its motion.

Influenced by Jubilee’s background in modern dance, the piece is composed of layered muslin strips — suggesting musculature or strips of flesh — that follow the body’s contours. A fabric spine runs down both front and back, subtly referencing the body’s internal symmetry.

Naturally dyed with avocado and beetroot, the cloth takes on soft, fleshy tones that shift gently in movement. An apron-style fastening at front and back leaves the sides open, allowing for fluid mobility through the hips and lateral space — designed to move with, not against, the dancer’s body.
